Crouch Parade & Fireworks-Idaho-Part 6

4th of July

We went to town for the parade.  It was fun.  Grandma Evans kept saying things to keep our hopes low because it is such a small town.  But kids don't care.  Plus there was TONS of candy and that is the best part.

Here is the Starlight Theater Float

Horrible picture but this is Anthony.  I am not sure what his costume was but he had a stool attached to his bottom and so it made him walk hunched and funny.  They were going actually pretty fast so I didn't get time to take a better picture before he ran to catch up with his float.

Later that night Gary & I took the kids to see the fireworks in town.  Show was supposed to be at 10 so got there about 9:30.  There are really only two roads in this town and one of them was packed with people setting off illegal fireworks up and down the entire street.  It was amazing.  Everywhere you looked there were fireworks going off.  We sat next to some people that know Gary's parents and they said they had been there since 7:30 and it was exactly like that when they got there aand never stopped.  The only time is stopped is when the "real" show started which only last 8 minnutes.  They were bigger and higher then what people were lighting on the street but I think the constant boom for 4 plus hours is what made the evening fun and exciting.

I was trying to get pitures of the fireworks behind the girls but it doesn't show the fireworks good and it's too dark to see the girls.  Oh well.

Here is a clip of the road where everyone was ligthing fireworks.  It really doesn't do justice.  You can see the ground how littered it is with burned out stuff but the feeling just isn't there becasuse you can't see all around to see all that was going on.  Anyway, the funniest part is that they parked a cop car in front of the gas pump.  That was the only "protection"  It is truly amazing that no one gets hurt during this event!  It is chaos.  But fun choas!
